About Kaleidoscope
It's been exactly one month between the last update and this one. According the boards clock: 10/4 and 9/5 respectively.

One of the tfn feedbackers commented that it would be nice if Vader and Padme were to acknowledge their feelings i.e. for Vader to come out and say he loved Padme.

It made me think.

Does Vader love Padme, really? Or, put more coherently, is what he feels for her mere love? Just a romantic emotion? Because somehow I don't think so. I feel it's something a lot more powerful and dangerous than love...

I don't think it's quite love at all. At least, not in a merely romantic sense. It's more like he's latched on to her, without quite realizing why, as though a part of him is desperate for some human kindness, or any form of contact really, but he doesn't understand his own feelings, and that makes him angry. So he lashes out, because anger is something he can understand. Maybe there's some tiny part of him that's searching for his own salvation, but it's such a small part he hasn't even realized it's there...

I hope that was a bit coherent. At any rate, I for one am very glad you haven't reduced this to just another love story. But we don't talk much in our society about forms of love other than (or in addition to) romantic love, so it's almost like people don't know what to do with something like this unless it's a love story. Maybe we're all a bit like Vader, in that sense.

Well, I don't think any of that made sense, so I'll stop philosophizing now. *rolls eyes* Anyway, thanks for giving me something to think about! :D

Actually it makes perfect sense and you helped me articulate so many of my hopes for this story. Also you've assured me that I am getting some messages across. Thanks!

You're very welcome. And I'm glad to know I wasn't completely off base with reading this story! ;)
