Was Genevieve Teague his mother?
If I remember right they did seem to have an incestuously close relationship.

Oooh wow. That's kinda of ... cool! *g* And that certainly puts paid to the theory that Lana is everyone's object of affection. Jason still preferred his wrinkly middle-aged mom to her!

Superman's (and thus same for all Kryptonians) second weakness has always been magic, that's been long established in the Superman mythology.

Nice! I really envy the Smallville producers'/writers' job. They get all this built-in mythology to play with. It's like licensed fan fiction and even better, they are paid for writing it!

I don't know much about Smallville, but there was a Lois & Clark episode in which Clark was susceptible to voodoo magic. He survived not by virtue of being Kryptonian, but that the frightening memory the magic latched onto wasn't of the right sort to kill him.

Nice. So it is canon. *g* I really liked Lois and Clark but I was in school when it was on and I only caught a few episodes. Is it true that he eventually revealed his identity to her and they got married, only to have the wedding called off by the appearance his Kryptonian betrothed-from-birth bride?

And cool icon, btw. ;)

Oh, yeah. Third season is all about Lois getting used to the whole idea of Clark=Superman. And then at the end of the third season the "New" Kryptonians show up... it's all really crazy.

You should pick up the DVD sets, it's a lot of fun to watch - plenty of corny humor, and Dean Cain & Teri Hatcher really flesh out Lois and Clark so well.

Ooh, I am tempted! *g* I really liked what I saw of the series - it was refreshing to have Lois fall in love with Clark Kent and not just crush on Superman as she did/does in the movies... I guess I'd better that saving up that piggy bank. :)

The FIRST wedding was called off on account of Lois being replaced by a clone who eats frogs. Then Lois has amnesia, then thinks she's a character in a novel she wrote, and in it Clark's kind of the good and the bad guy and she ends up thinking Clark's the bad guy from the novel. Then she gets hospitalised and the doctor uses his position to try and get Lois to forget Clark and be with him instead. THEN there was the second wedding with the appearance of his Kryptonian betrothed from birth bride. Season 3 of LnC was messed up and IMO crazy and annoying. And I could even finish watching season 4 even though i bought it ages ago. IMO the first two season was gold. Stick with them.

I have to get L & C season 2 right now!!!!

*takes a deep breath*

*calms down*

*blushes*

*whistles*

I wonder what our Smallville fandom would say about Lois and the doctor plot. Granted there's no Chloe insert-self Sue to compete for Clark in the story, but that's enough for them to brand Lois a skank or worse. *rolls eyes* In fact, the whole of Season 1 with the Cloisex (:P) triangle would have been enough for fandom now to hate Lois.

I miss the good ol' days.

Actually I know a number of people who just sees LnC separate from SV. They'll say the Lois on LnC is SO much better, more mature than Lois on SV or whatever.

Er.. how?

I love Teri Hatcher's Lois to bits but how is it any better than Erica Durance? They both play the character with that comic edge of sharp reparte, and slapstick. I really don't see any difference. If anything, I think Erica's Lois is slightly harder, less dreamy-headed (or rather, hides that dreamy side of her more) than Teri's.

Yeah i know, i like that SV's Lois is less dreamy too and i like that a lot. It's probably the whole slackerLois thing Smallville is pushing.

It's part of the "Make Chloe Great" agenda. AlMiles are so in love with their Mary Sue, it's sad. She'd be a great character on her own right if they'd just: a, let her have a life and b, not make everyone else asshats on her behalf. :(
hollywood_r_bin From: hollywood_r_bin Date: November 14th, 2007 01:57 pm (UTC) (Link)
Yeah, i know! She'd be awesome if they let her have a life! Though i don't think AlMiles have any control over how the fans behave. If that were true Jo on Supernatural might still be around :(

That is if the creators can control fans like that.

A lot of people suspected Jason was having an incestuous relationship with his mother, and it's implied alot but a lot more fanon than canon. I see it that way though. I love the Teagues, so disturbing :) Man i miss them! I hate how their storyline ended so sloppily, damn the writers. I was gonna write a continuiation of the s4 witch storyline as a fic but never went for it cause I really lacked the historical knowledge and my idea requires a bit of flashback to 16th century France, and earlier as well. Maybe during this holiday break in a few weeks i will try it. The story is set in the future though, AU where Lana leaves Smallville after season 4 and becomes an actress. She ends up shooting a film in a castle in France and started getting haunted by Genevieve and Jason, and then she started getting flashbacks where she IS Isobel, but not evil megalomania Isobel, but an Isobel that was pretty much Lana herself before she was corrupted.

Aren't they? Slightly OT but not quite, I was discussing with a friend about the "Charmed" series and she told me how there were plans to do a spin-off with Piper's boys but the plans were scrapped by some crazy producer. So I was like: I'm sure his gnawing his teeth at Supernatural's success now. *g* Anyway, what I meant in a roundabout way, that it was so cool to see someone have Mummy issues for a change. Sci fi/fantasy doesn't seem to care too much about mothers.

Your ideas are so cool. *sigh* I'm going to make time after nano this month to read your stories. You know, if you ever need a beta or even a co-writer to push inspire you on, you need only turn to me. :)

I never watched Charmed. Mostly due to lack of time, I usually watch shows on DVD cause i can't stand jumping in mid series ever! And to watch Charmed i would need to get a hold of the DVDs, all of them, and have time to sit down and watch. I agree with you about Mummy issues though. Actually what REALLY bothers me is this, heroes are more likely to have daddy issues, Dean and Sam on SPN. Mohinder and Matt on Supernatural, ofcourse Lex has daddyissues too but he was a good guy in the early days when they emphasised the daddyissues. and Mother issues are like reserved for psychos like Sylar and Jason Teague.

Thank you :) I hardly ever get beta-read. If you read my SV stories, just keep in mind, they're almost always girl on girl, and what I write in the future will also probably be girl on girl too. My Lana witch story was gonna be Lana/Genevieve (Isobel/Gertrude), since I found that pair really exciting yet no one else seems to :( Actually the Lana story was gonna be Lana/Genevieve/Jason threesome, you know, since the incestuous vibes were already there I want to use it.

That's the way I mostly watch Charmed now. :D It's a great show but after Shannon Doherty's character left, I felt a bit cheated with the 'pull her out of the hat' 3rd sister, I've never been too commited to it. ;)

Oh yes, I understand. Anakin Skywalker vs Luke Skywalker comes to mind. :P

*rolls eyes* If it's not anything to do with Chloe, Smallville fandom rarely does.

Well a number of my fics are Chloe/Lana, I hope you still read it though, but maybe not. It's the pair i seem to be able to write most fluently, i find it easier to find both character's voices.

Well to be honest, I'm not into slash :P but I won't mind looking over the story either way. Anything is better than reading how Clark, Lex, Lionel, Jonathan, Jason and Zod tore the Earth apart for Chloe's heart. :p
hollywood_r_bin From: hollywood_r_bin Date: November 14th, 2007 02:14 pm (UTC) (Link)
Oh well, I'm all slash and femme. I don't even read hetero stuff, just not for me. As for the last part, the Secret Life series has Lana pining for Chloe and Chloe being a bitch about it. First part is Chloe's POV and she treats Lana awefully, then it's Lana's POV which is longer, WIP, and it has Lana pining after Chloe but also showing Chloe being nicer to Lana. The series was supposed to end with Lana realising Chloe isn't perfect but she does care about her but by then Lana would have already moved onto Jason. It's using the same kinda formula as clana and chlark only less sweet i guess.
