I like Leo, too! I thought he and Cara were cute together and had some great chemistry. She's used to guys being broken by her, and now she's met someone who could actually be a match for her. It'll be interesting to see how their relationship develops. I don't know if he's part of the books or what happens, but I'd like to see him around for a while. Unfortunately, I have a sick feeling that he'll get killed off or sent away since there won't be much of a place for him when Richard comes back. Couldn't we have two true seekers traveling in the group? Group sex for all! Eh, except for Zed the Cock Blocker... he can go on a magical quest for a while.

I feel like they'll probably go the same old boring route... have Cara grow to care for him, then BAM he dies and she gets all hard and closed off again and denies she cared for him when Kahlan tries to talk to her about it. YAWN. Plenty of angst surrounding Mr. and Mrs. Can't Sex or Richard Will Lose His Soul. At least SOMEONE on this show needs to be getting some.

I haven't read the books either so I can't say if Leo is a part of the books, but I like what he's bringing to the show. Like you said, he's a different breed of man from the ones Cara has met. Even Richard was her enemy for their first few moments together; and when he met up with her again in 2x1, his knee-jerk reaction was to distrust her and suspect her of the kidnapping of Rachel and the other girls from the village. Leo is probably the first guy who is just treating her as any other woman, and not a monster to be feared or distrusted.

Zedd can always get it on with Shota. :P :P

LOL! Oh, I really hope that doesn't happen, but yes, it does seem predictable. On the other hand, this show has pulled some unexpected trope inversions so who knows?

It can't really be OOC, because she's NEVER had a man treat her that way before, so it's completely unprecedented and her reactions are going to be unpredictable. Mord'Sith or no, Cara has been changing over the course of season 2, becoming a more sensitive (if still prickly) person, and now she's experiencing actual mutual attraction (and not just of the lusty variety) for the first time. Can't hold it against her if she finds that, deep down, that's interesting and exciting in a way that she's never felt before. Zedd can always get it on with Shota. :P :P I considered that, briefly, but then I thought that with the way things are going with Shota these days, they'd likely end up killing each other. LOL! LOL! Oh, I really hope that doesn't happen, but yes, it does seem predictable. On the other hand, this show has pulled some unexpected trope inversions so who knows? I'll give them a chance, as always, but I'm not going to be totally surprised if it does go down that way. I just would really like to see Cara have a chance to experience something she's always been denied. I think that, all these months she's been traveling with the group, she's been sort of observing Richard and Kahlan out of the corner of her eye, seeing how they interact and how they care for each other, and even if she scoffs at their lovey-doviness, on some level she's probably curious what that would be like. I'm going to try to start the first book tomorrow.

WORD. Look at Denna's reaction to Richard in "Denna". For the first time, one of her trainees treated her with compassion and she also acted in a way that the other Mord Sith (Constance) regarded as OOC. (At least from the deleted scenes).

No, we can't. :D

LOL! I would love to have seen glimpses of a young!Zedd and Shota. I think they'd have been a cute couple. I am intrigued by all Shota's talk about how powerful they would have been together if they had united their forces. _wink_ _nudge_

even if she scoffs at their lovey-doviness, on some level she's probably curious what that would be like.

THIS.
