i had to read it a couple of times to 'get' it. i think i understand it now.
have you read Catch 22 because it is in a similar style? but without the dream world.

Nah, I haven't. I always wondered where the saying came from.

So that's added to my wishlist - the Clockwork Orange; and Catch 22.
