To the left...

Just finished watching Beyoncé's video 'To The Left'. Really, really like that girl. The song lyrics already had me in stitches 'could you walk and talk at the same time?' but the way she acted, the whole sassiness with the nail file and the 'in the closet, that's my stuff, please don't touch'. HA! I actually felt a little sorry for the guy. But he really was such a total scrub. I mean, she was living in a mansion and *he* had to call a taxi. *g*

Although, I am not a supporter of the 'I can have another you in a minute' theme. Girl, you don't want another 'him'. You want someone a lot better!

Hah, that is amusing! I was just saying the other day how pathetic it is that such a large number of men are content to live off of women. I guess because I was raised by a single mom I can't imagine depending on someone else for basic needs such as food, clothes and shelter. When I was unemployed for a time it drove me insane not having an income of my own. I wonder how we bred this instinct out of our males?

*shrugs* Beats me. I still know a good deal of men who, if it boiled down to a choice, would prefer to be the breadwinners and their wives stay-at-home housewives. I don't approve of THAT at all, but if I had to choose between that kind of guy and a scrub, I'd definitely choose the cave man. At least, he can be house-trained. ;)

I don't like the idea of replacing people so easily. If he's that ordinary why go out with him in the first place? It seems like your treating a person as an acessory rather than an individual.

Well I think she was speaking from her hurt. According to the lyrics, he had been cheating on her. {"Since I'm not your everything, how about I mean nothing, nothing at all to you.") And to crown it all, he's "standing at the front door, telling [her] how [she's] such a fool, how [she'll] never ever find a guy like [him]."
